Statewide Public Meetings Phase I

VTrans used statewide meetings to help develop the On-Road Bicycle Plan. Public participation has significantly contributed to determining bicycle use on state roads. The public meetings were used to raise awareness about the project, promote the interactive crowdsourcing mapping tool ( aka WikiMap) and provided opportunity for the public to state concerns and recommendations.

Archived recording of each meeting and the associated presentations are provided on this page.

Public Input –Interactive Crowdsourcing Mapping Tool
(aka WikiMap)

An interactive crowdsourcing mapping tool (aka WikiMap) was used to collect public input on the primary routes bicycled across the state and obstacles for bicyclists to access preferred destinations. The information collected focused on the State highway system and Class 1 town highways ( segments of town highways functioning as an extension of State highways). Partcipants were asked to ensure some portion of the routes drawn on the WikiMap included State roads Click below to view the WikiMap.

Note: The WikiMap is closed and input is no longer being collected.

Note: The WikiMap application works only in the following browsers: Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Internet Explorer 10 & 11, and Opera.
