###

The LVRT is mostly complete and now open to the public! The trail has variable conditions due to Spring clean up and a few remaining construction tasks.  Keep in mind that these segments may be temporarily closed while necessary adjustments are made.  Proceed with caution and follow all posted signs and warnings. We appreciate your patience and cooperation in making the LVRT a safer and more enjoyable trail for everyone to use.

  • Walden sinkhole repair: The closure between Bayley-Hazen Road and Keene Road (MP 23.3-22.5) is finished and the segment is reopened as of May 26th, 2023.
  • Fisher Covered Bridge: The siding work is nearing completion, and the bridge is reopened for public use as of May 26th, 2023.
  • Wolcott slide: Resurfacing work is still ongoing on the trail between the eastern side of Bridge #47 in Wolcott Village (MP 40.4) to the Wolcott slide area (MP 39.9). The trail is currently rough but open, and some trail segments may be temporarily closed for resurfacing in the coming weeks.
  • Flood repair in East Fairfield and Fletcher: Flood prevention and repair work due to the 2022 December floods continues in East Fairfield (MP 75-78) and Fletcher (MPs 68-72). The trail has been restored to its pre-ANR floodplain restoration elevation, and all new culverts have been installed.  The trail is currently rough but open, and some trail segments may be temporarily closed for resurfacing and ballast stabilization work in the coming weeks.
