Having accurate and relevant data about stakeholder and public opinions, perceptions, and concerns is a cornerstone component of updating the Vermont Public Transit Policy Plan (PTPP). Additionally, public outreach is a required component of the Vermont Agency of Transportation FTA Title VI Program (2017) and meets guidelines established in the Vermont Agency of Transportation Public Involvement Guide (2017). To support the public outreach process, the project team deployed two statewide surveys; facilitated 11 regional forums across the state; interviewed key stakeholders; and is collecting feedback throughout the project lifecycle. The Regional Public Transit Forums occurred in the Fall of 2018. These workshops targeted users, providers, funders, and other stakeholders and focused on: an inventory of services; transportation challenges and service gaps; and strategies and projects that could fill those gaps. Regional specific resources from each Forum and the resulting Needs Assessments can be found below.
