Construction Updates

 

The following is the final schedule of the construction to take place on VT Route 2 paving project for the week beginning August 26, 2019:
  • Removal of construction signs.

This project is complete!  On behalf of the VT Agency of Transportation, I would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding during the construction. 

We hope you enjoy the improvements, not only for your safety, but also for the smooth ride.


ANTICIPATED WORK ACTIVITIES FOR THE WEEK BEGINNING AUGUST 19, 2019:

  • Minimal daytime activities throughout the project limits.

Motorists should expect minimal to no impact in their travels.


ANTICIPATED WORK ACTIVITIES FOR THE WEEK BEGINNING AUGUST 12, 2019:

Thursday - 8 a.m. to noon:

  • Installation of delineators at each end of the guardrail approach sections throughout the project limits.

Motorists should expect minimal impact in their travels.

 


ANTICIPATED WORK ACTIVITIES FOR THE WEEK BEGINNING AUGUST 5, 2019:

Monday through Friday – 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.:

  • General clean up work throughout the project limits.

 


ANTICIPATED WORK ACTIVITIES FOR THE REMAINDER OF THIS WEEK AND NEXT WEEK:

Friday – 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.:

  • Weather permitting, continue pavement markings throughout the project limits.

Saturday - 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

  • Weather permitting, complete pavement markings throughout the project limits.

Monday through Friday - 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.:

  • Weather permitting, continue paving abutting driveway aprons.
  • General clean up work throughout the project limits.

Motorist should expect minor delays as traffic control will be present allowing for one-lane of alternating travel.


ANTICIPATED WORK ACTIVITIES FOR THE REMAINDER OF THIS WEEK AND NEXT WEEK:

July 18, 2019 – 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.:

  • No work

Friday – 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.:

  • Weather permitting, continue paving abutting driveway aprons throughout the project limits.

Monday – 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.:

  • Weather permitting, continue paving abutting driveway aprons throughout the project limits.
  • General clean up work throughout the project limits.

Tuesday & Wednesday - 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.:

  • Painting of colored crosswalks throughout the project limits

Later part of the week (night to be determined) – 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.:

  • Complete the line striping throughout the project limits.

ANTICIPATED WORK ACTIVITIES FOR THE REMAINDER OF THIS WEEK AND NEXT WEEK:

July 11, 2019 – 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.:
  • Weather permitting, complete paving abutting side roads to include Maple Tree Place, Zephyr Road and Boxwood Street.
  • Complete the installation of shoulder aggregate from Old Stage Road proceeding east to the end of the project.

Sunday & Monday – 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.:
  •  Preparation work for pavement markings throughout the project limits.
 
Tuesday – 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.:
  •  Weather permitting, pavement markings throughout the project limits.
 
Sunday through Thursday – 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.:
  • Weather permitting, paving of abutting driveway aprons throughout the project limits.

Motorists can expect minor delays as traffic control will be present allowing for one lane of alternating travel within the construction zone.


ANTICIPATED WORK ACTIVITIES FOR THE WEEK BEGINNING MONDAY, JULY 08, 2019:

Tuesday – 3 a.m. to 6 a.m.:

  •  Weather permitting, complete paving abutting side roads to include Maple Tree Place, Zephyr Road and Boxwood Street.

Thursday – 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.:

  •  Preparation work for pavement markings throughout the project limits.

TRAFFIC IMPACT: Expect minor delays as traffic control will be present allowing for one lane of alternating travel within the construction zone.


ANTICIPATED WORK ACTIVITIES FOR THE WEEK BEGINNING FRIDAY, JUNE 28, 2019:

Friday - 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.:

  • Weather permitting, continue paving from Old Stage Road to the end of the project, N. Williston RD/Oak Hill Rd Intersection

Tuesday - 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.:

  • Continued installation of shoulder aggregate from Old Stage Road to the end of the project, N. Williston RD/Oak Hill Rd Intersection

Sunday through Tuesday 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.:

  • Pending scheduling, potential line striping on Route 2 throughout the project limits.

TRAFFIC IMPACT: Expect minor delays as traffic control will be present allowing for one lane of alternating travel within the construction zone.


Final paving began last night, June 24, 2019 at the Boxwood Lane intersection and proceed east to Old Stage Road.  Weather permitting, paving to continue tonight beginning at 7 p.m.

                                                                                                       

 


The following is a revised update to the work schedule for the week beginning Monday, June 23, 2019:

Sunday through Friday – 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.:

  • Weather permitting, paving to begin east of the N. Williston Road/Oak Hill Road intersection and proceed west.

Monday – Daytime:

  • Sidewalk work near the Whitney Hill Road intersection.

Motorist should expect minor delays as traffic control will be present allowing for one-lane of alternating travel.


The following is an update to the work schedule for the week beginning Monday, June 17, 2019:

Wednesday thru Friday – Daytime: 

  • Miscellaneous work throughout the project limits in anticipation of paving beginning on Sunday, June 23, 2019.

Motorist should expect minor delays as traffic control will be present allowing for one-lane of alternating travel.


The following is the anticipated work schedule for the week beginning Monday, June 17, 2019:

  • There is no work schedule on this project.

Motorist should not encounter any travel impacts.


The following is the anticipated work schedule for the week beginning Monday, June 10, 2019:

Monday thru Friday – Daytime: 

  • General clean-up work throughout the project limits. 

Motorist should expect minimal activity will little to no impact in their travel.


The following is the antcipated work schedule for the week beginning Monday, June 03, 2019:

Monday thru Thursday – Daytime

  • Abutting driveway tie-in work
  • Sidewalk approach work at Mapletree Place and Whitney Hill Road
  • Continued shoulder work

Motorist should expect delays as there will be traffic control present allowing for 1-lane of alternating traffic.

The following is the anticipated work schedule for the week beginning Sunday, May 19, 2019:

Sunday & Monday:

  • No work due to the Memorial Day holiday

Tuesday thru Friday - Daytime:

  • Change of structure elevations throughout the project limits
  • Sidewalk approach work
  • Minor guardrail corrections 
  • Shoulder cleanup work (possibly from 7pm to 6am as well)

PLEASE NOTE:  Weather permitting, completion of the 1st lift of paving the eastbound lane to Boxwood Lane will also be done between 7pm to 6am - Night to be determined 

Motorist should expect delays as there will be traffic control present allowing for 1-lane of alternating traffic.

The following is the anticipated work schedule for the week beginning Sunday, May 19, 2019:

Sunday thru Thursday 7 pm to 6am:

  • Cold planing (grinding) the abutting side road approaches throughout the project limits.
  • Roadway surface cleanup to prep for leveling course of pavement.
  • Shoulder work throughout the project in various areas.

Motorist should expect delays as there will be traffic control present allowing for 1-lane of alternating traffic. 

 


The following is the anticipated work schedule for the week beginning Sunday, May 15, 2019:

Sunday thru Thursday 7 pm to 6am:

  • Cold planing (grinding) the existing roadway to begin at Boxwood Lane and proceed east throughout the week.

Motorist should expect delays as there will be traffic control present allowing for 1-lane of alternating traffic.

US-2 Williston - Road Resurfacing

The Vermont Agency of Transportation (VTrans) is repaving Route 2 from Boxwood Lane in Williston proceeding east to 200’ east of the N. Williston Road/Oak Hill Road intersection in the Williston Village. The project is scheduled to begin May 12, 2019 with an anticipated completion date of September 20, 2019.

Construction work includes grinding of the existing pavement (cold planing), resurfacing with a leveling and wearing course of pavement, new pavement markings, shoulder widening where allowable, guardrail, signage, and other incidental items. Due to the high volume of traffic, the hours of operation will be from 7:00pm to 6:00am. Traffic control will be maintained at all times, with one-way alternating traffic during construction hours.
