CMS10: VTrans BIM for Bridges and Structures

Brief Project Description: Building Information Models are three-Dimensional computer design and engineered models. These models typical include a model that contains accurate physical geometry as well as analytical data, used to design the bridge, construct the bridge, and eventually used to manage the bridge over its life span. The 3D Engineered models can be structurally analyzed during design. The idea is to provide structural analytical properties along with details needed for construction. Then Models can be used by contractors to bid on bridge projects, then fabricators to extract dimensional and physical information. The model would be updated over time, maintaining a digital twin.
