Traffic Research

The Traffic Research Unit collects, analyzes, and manages traffic count data. The unit provides traffic count data to other sections of the agency for use in designing roadway, bridge, and pavement projects. Traffic count data is also used for traffic signal timing, safety analyses, and for reviewing traffic impact studies to assess the impact of development on the transportation network. The unit prepares monthly and annual traffic data reports to meet federal data reporting requirements.

The unit produces a variety of traffic data reports which are available for download on the Traffic Research Publications webpage. Raw traffic count data may be viewed and downloaded online using an interactive map.
