VTrans in partnership with numerous regional, municipal, and community stakeholders, started developing the Route 9 Corridor Management Plan in 2020. The plan covers the VT 9 corridor from intersection with VT 279 in Bennington to the I 91 intersection in Brattleboro.
Partners Meeting (9/2/2020)
VTrans met with Partners in September 2020 and collated their needs and concerns. Partners include staff from Towns along the corridor and RPCs, as well as other state agencies. They are entities which help us identify issues and may also be a partner to address some of those issues.

Final Plan (June 2021)
For this project we have compiled a StoryMap which explores some of the themes that recur along the Corridor and gives information about all the places where needs and concerns have been identified. It also includes links to several reports and memos that were created as part of the plan.
For the best experience using StoryMaps, please use a browser like Chrome, Firefox, Safari or Microsoft Edge.
A condensed version of the plan is available in the following two documents:

- Table of Needs/Concerns and Next Step - PDF and Excel Spreadsheet

Next Steps
After the Plan is finalized in early summer 2021, this plan will be used by many different parts of VTrans as well as local partners like RPCs and Towns.
To keep this plan relevant, we intend to:
- keep the background data up-to-date (e.g. project lists, asset conditions, etc)
- check in with VTrans staff and local partners on a regular basis for updates (next update likely in 2023, after completion of the major paving project)
Periodically, updates will be emailed to partners and other interested parties along the Corridor. If you have not already received an email from Katharine about this project and would like to going forward, please email katharine.otto@vermont.gov
