The Vermont Agency of Transportation in conjunction with Kubricky Construction Corporation is set to begin reconstruction of U.S. Route 2 from the Richmond-Williston town line extending easterly for approximately 8.25 miles to approximately halfway between the Notch Road and the Bolton Access Road in Bolton.
During the construction period, motorists should expect traffic flow to be maintained at all times with one-way alternating traffic during construction hours with control present. During one of the culvert replacements, a overnight closure of US-2 will be required. Motorists should also expect to be traveling on a gravel surface during construction.
The posted speed limit will be strictly enforced as the safety of the workers along with the motorists is of the utmost importance. We ask motorists to use extreme caution while traveling through the zone. Please note the fines for speeding within the construction zone will be doubled.
- Milling from Jonesville proceeding easterly for approximately 1-1/2 miles
- Continue roadway excavation and slab removal from the Richmond-Bolton town line proceeding easterly
- Fine grading from Notch Road, Bolton to Jonesville
- Stone fill and drainage work throughout the project limits
- Potential paving the first course of pavement on the east end of the project, in Bolton
- Replacement of culvert pipe under US Route 2 just east of the intersection of US Route 2 and Jericho Road/Bridge Street. Traffic control will be present allowing for one lane of alternating travel.
Monday through Friday - Daytime:
- Continue roadway excavation and slab removal between Boys Club Road and Cochran Road
- Slope repairs in multiple locations between Lemroy Court, Richmond and Cochran Road, Jonesville.
- Continue roadway excavation and slab removal between Boys Club Road and Long Trail Parking Lot.
- Slope repairs in multiple locations between Lemroy Court, Richmond and Cochran Road, Jonesville.
