US Route 2 - Richmond to Bolton

The Vermont Agency of Transportation in conjunction with Kubricky Construction Corporation is reconstructing U.S. Route 2 from the Richmond-Williston town line extending easterly for approximately 8.25 miles to approximately halfway between the Notch Road and the Bolton Access Road in Bolton.

During the construction period, motorists should expect traffic flow to be maintained at all times with one-way alternating traffic during construction hours with control present. During one of the culvert replacements, a overnight closure of US-2 will be required. Motorists should also expect to be traveling on a gravel surface during construction.

The posted speed limit will be strictly enforced as the safety of the workers along with the motorists is of the utmost importance. We ask motorists to use extreme caution while traveling through the zone. Please note the fines for speeding within the construction zone will be doubled.

Monday through Friday - 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.:

• Continue full-depth roadway excavation and slab removal between Snipe Ireland Road proceeding west to Lemroy Court.
• Underdrain work from Snipe Ireland Road proceeding west to Lemroy Court.
• Guardrail installation east of Snipe Ireland Road to the end of the project in Bolton.

• Installation of new gaurdrail between Boys Club Road to the east end of the project in Bolton.
• Slope stabilization and ditch work on the west end of the project between the intersection of VT Route 117 to the Richmond/Williston Town Line.

• Milling (grinding of the existing pavement) from Snipe Ireland Road proceeding west to Lemroy Court.
• Installation of guardrail throughout the project limits.
• Erosion control measures throughout the project limits.

The following is the anticipated work schedule for the week beginning Monday, April 10, 2023:

 

Monday through Friday - 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.:

• Crews will be working on U.S. Route 2 between Snipe Ireland Road and Lemroy Court to adjust the guardrail in preparation for continued roadway reconstruction to begin next week.
