Brief Project Description: The project will investigate how compact, mixed-use development patterns effect vehicle miles travelled (VMT), mode share, and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions compared to more dispersed development patterns. To comply with the 2020 Global Warming Solutions Act, Vermont needs to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 26% below 2005 levels by 2025, 40% below 1990 levels by 2030, and 80% below 1990 levels by 2050.
