Brief Project Description: Rapid setting concrete (RSC) are a critical part of VTrans' Accelerated Bridge Construction (ABC) projects for use in poured-in connections between prefabricated elements. A laboratory evaluation to assess durability of these materials is undertaken as part of a VTrans research study to propose standardized mix designs for RSCs. This evaluation is assessing three baseline RSC materials along with variations in cementitious materials content, aggregate sources, and water amounts to generate necessary datasets for proposing standardized mix proportions. Results from these laboratory trials will be presented and discussed.
