DBE Supportive Services

The VTrans DBE Supportive Services Program provides business assistance to assist DBEs to succeed. In addition to a business listing in the DBE Directory, DBEs can take advantage of business planning, marketing assistance, networking, and a variety of training opportunities.

Vermont Business Development Program (VBDP)

The VBDP helps DBE-certified businesses to develop and implement business plans and increase participation on VTrans federally funded projects. Businesses selected for the program receive one-on-one assistance to establish effective marketing strategies, projects, and goals.

Benefits to VBDP Participants

  • Assistance in identifying and contacting the appropriate business development resources.

  • One-on-one networking with VTrans staff and prime contractors. If you are interested in expanding your scope of work, we can help you contact the appropriate staff or primes.

  • Gain insight into your business needs through a comprehensive business assessment.

  • Write a business plan to take advantage of financing and bonding opportunities in a competitive business environment.

  • Link with a business coach to act as a sounding board for you business ideas.

  • Participate in networking opportunities through a series of brown bag lunches, featuring a series of resource people to strengthen your business.

ACEC Meetings – the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) holds quarterly meetings with VTrans staff to discuss contracting and other issues. Meetings are posted on ACEC’s Calendar Page.
