VTrans Environmental Specialists serve as the primary liaison for successful coordination of the environmental permitting of all VTrans projects. They are responsible for completion of Resource Identification and Permitting for avoidance and minimization of project impacts to specific resources and for completing the NEPA documentation. Environmental Specialists are required to maintain a level of literacy and working knowledge of all environmental resource disciplines addressed by the Environmental Section. All activities are equally important to ensure the appropriate environmental coordination, both internally and with state and federal agencies, at every level of project development from scoping through construction.
