Vermont Traffic Committee

The Vermont Traffic Committee, as established by 19 V.S.A. § 1(24), consists of the Secretary of Transportation or designee, the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles or designee, and the Commissioner of Public Safety or designee, and is responsible for establishing speed zones, parking and no parking areas, rules for use of limited access highways, approval of the testing of automated vehicles as defined in 23 V.S.A. § 4202 on public highways, and other traffic control procedures.

The Committee meets four times per year.  These meetings are open to the public and held in a hybrid format, with both in-person and virtual options for attendees.  Information about upcoming meetings will be posted below as meetings are scheduled.

Regular meetings of the Traffic Committee will occur on the second Wednesday of the months April, June, September, and December commencing at 1:30 p.m. at 2178 Airport Rd, Barre, VT.

Next Meeting: June 12, 2024, at 1:30pm at 2178 Airport Rd, Building B, Barre, VT, Conference Room 103.
